Knowledge-based economy is based on the application of knowledge in any economic activity. This economy will prevent the unemployment of the educated class in any country and will cause the economy to grow as much as possible. Among the activities related to the knowledge-based economy, tissue culture has high security in the agricultural sector. Therefore, in this study, Iran's advantage in the export of tissue culture has been studied. The desired information was collected from the international trade website for the period from 2002 to 2021. A comparison of the relative advantage of tissue culture exports in Iran and neighboring countries shows that Iran's situation is far better than its neighbors, while more than 50% of Iran's neighboring countries do not have a good situation in this field, and among the 16 neighboring countries of Iran, Turkey, Russia and Kyrgyzstan are the most important competitors in the export of tissue culture. Of course, the 4 countries of Pakistan, the United Arab Emirates, Kazakhstan, Azerbaijan, and the United Arab Emirates are also potential competitors of Iran in the export of tissue culture. Therefore, it is recommended that necessary measures such as supporting tissue culture production units, establishing new tissue culture production units, reducing exports to countries with re-exports, with the aim of promoting domestic brands, should be taken by relevant authorities.
